So for the final part of my weekend retreat - with our welcome pack, we each had a raffle ticket, my ticket number was drawn - and I won this
this was just after I had said 'I never win anything' LOL.
Then on Saturday night we had a couple of sessions of bingo, and Kirsty turned round and said 'I never win anything' and we all started to laugh and low and behold she ended up winning a prize as well.
This was one of the make and take, which I'm hoping to add to a layout. Easy to put together a I don't know why I never done something like it before. There was 4 make and takes to do over the weekend, I did 3 out of the 4. I'll add the others to another post.
Then there was a sketch challenge - I used my Studio Calico February 2011 kit
And just a couple of other layouts I did
Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1934
Now this one used loads of circle punched and stamped, I got the idea for this layout from one which Kelly Purkey had done over on Studio Calico
Paper collection - Crate Paper - Restoration
Then this one again using my February 2011 Studio Calico kit
with a ice-cream embellishment made from stamped images and my cloud punches. Again this embellishment was originally done by Kelly Purkey.
Now onto my shop purchases
Some of the new Sassafras - Paper Crush, Sweetly Smitten, Starters
My Mind's Eye Collection
This lead me onto the Sunday afternoon we had the badges, sketch challenge, Canvas Challenge and main raffle prizes to be given out.
The main raffle was an original designed quilt by Sarah herself. When it came to doing the raffle, I couldn't find my tickets, but I did say ' I don't why I'm bothering because I don't win anything' ... the draw was done and No. 55 was shouted out Yahhhhhhhhh ..... it was me ...... I won this amazing quilt ..... WOW, WOW, WOW.
On the reverse she had even added a border, so it wasn't just plain on the back.
I just love it, it has taken pride and place in my craft room, but it does look good at the bottom of my bed, so it might end up there, but for now I'm having it all to myself - LOL.
So between our two tables we did really well with prizes, 3 raffles, 1 bingo win, 1 canvas win and 1 quilt win - no wonder we want to meet up again.
Well that all about Sarah's card retreat it was a great weekend, and I'm so glad that we went, Julie said she enjoyed it too, which was good has she never been on one before and I hoped that she would.
Now I'm in preparation for my next one is a few weeks time, then I've nothing else booked for the rest of the year - boohoo !!!! This month feels like I've been waiting for a bus, you know when you wait and wait for ages, then they all come together - lol. But the last two have been just brilliant and I've loved everything about them so roll on my next one which I'm so looking forward to, I've even got some of my photos printed out already - more on this in another post.
Thanks for stopping by ...
