Project Life - July 2014

Well, I don't believe it myself but I've manage to finish my July pages, there a few gaps that just needs photos adding, which I'm OK with and can easily be slotted in later, but the bulk of it is now complete.

a cinema visit, my smashed phone, out with the girls for a meal and the we watch cinema to watch the live performance of 'From Here to Eternity'.

Crafting at Sue's, Evening meal at Barbara to finalise what we wanted for our holiday, then the booking of our holiday

and for the few that haven't heard, we are going to New York next May - OMG !!! I'm so excited this is going to be another dream come true for me, I've thought about it for years and I'm so looking forward to spending it with the girls and experiencing all that New York has to offer.

Inside the bag is my thoughts on the booking and what happened whilst I was at the travel agents.

My first visit to Stoneleigh Abbey - but hopefully not my last, love it and will definitely go back again.

I loved the history of the place and the setting was just beautiful.

Mini photo shoot with James in his prom suit in our garden.

The day of the prom, OMG! he looked so grown up and he was so excited when he saw the car.

helping out at the schools summer fair, James crashing out on the rug (he has never, ever done this) after his late night at his prom, and the day helping at the fair.

The girls got me a lovely orchid and chocs' has a thank you for sorting the holiday, I was very touched.

James sleeping on the rug.

The announcement that I had been chosen to joint the  CT team at Hey Little Magpie, to say I was speechless was definitely an understatement, I was so chuffed and just hope that I can live up to the expectation.

A trip to the theatre to see Wicked - what a fab show and I NEED to go back and see it again.

We had a weekend in Derbyshire

One of the things I wanted to see was the 'Well Dressings' which are lovely creations - but unfortunately due to the hot weather then the down pour the well dressings had crumbled, it was such a shame has the villages had gone to a lot of trouble.

We had a Sunday morning walk by the Lathkill, another beautiful place in Derbyshire and at the end of walk was this lovely waterfall, so tranquil and peaceful.

visits to Botanical Gardens, the beach coming to our area,

I got a InstaxShare printer, and it fab,  I used it to print the photos for all these layouts here

Love spending time with James, and I'm taking as much as I can before he started College.

James and his Summer jobs around the house, and a photo shoot by Morag

with Lauren photo bombing one of the shots.

Well that was my July.

Getting Messy with Gelatos

I've seen many layouts on the internet where the crafter has used theses inks, but have not paid much attention.

Then whilst away, Sam had a collection of the pens and Julie was using them, so I got a quick tutorial on how they worked, it was very basic but I loved it, so has soon as I got home I ordered my own set.   I'm looking forward to watching some videos to find out how to get the most out of them.

Here my layout, its a scrap life from the one that Julie was doing.

The collection I used is Fancy Pants -  Me-lology, which you can find here.

Another older photo of me, this one was taken on the day I found out I was a Runner Up for the Scrapbooker of the Year 2011.

And a few close ups

Love how the gelato has run dow the page.

Another one from the Weekend

I finally cut into the Shimelle Collection, that i've been hoarding for the past few months, I don't know why I hoard stash, as once I've cut into it I'm love working with it, and it I really needed too I can always buy more.

The only things that wasn't in the collection that I've used on this pages are the Thickers, Enamal Dots and Wood Veneer Stars.

The photos is of me and Julie after we had spent a lovely afternoon celebrating Julie's birthday.

Another collection that I'm loving at the moment, and you can get it from here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Layout from my Weekend Away ...

Whilst away crafting the other weekend I managed to complete 5 layouts and some of my project life - I really didn't realised at the time how much I had done, has I felt I'd spent the all time laughing and eating - lol.

Anyway, I did and I can share a few now and the others will be up on the HLM blog on the 17th October,

For this layout, I used a collection from Echo Park Paper - called Creative Agenda I loved the fresh colours in this collection and something I've not done for a while I purchased the whole collection as I loved it.

The photo was taken at a retreat I attended a few years ago and came across it when I was trying to find somethings, and knew that these papers would work really well.

The stamps on the background are from Stampin Up.

Here are few close ups.

I love this collection and I've got a few layout ideas in mind to use the rest.

Thanks for stopping by.

A weekend of Crafting at The Forge

Hello everyone, where is the time going, I seemed to be crafting and crafting and still not able to get anything on my blog … note to self … must try harder to upload more regularly - lol.

Anyway a quick update, last weekend (end of September 2014) I went away with the girls on our 2nd crafty visit of the year to Ashbourne, for a weekend of crafting, laughing and definitely eating way too much.  Here are a few photos of what we got up to

As usual, we start off with the 'it won't all fit in' situation, but it does, and every time we say we are not taking as much stash as last time, but we always do,  Really going to make a big effort not too next time, has 3/4 was not even used.

We started off in Ashbourne and meet some the girls for lunch and a bit of shopping, before heading to the Cottage

With the addition of a few extra tables we have enough room for us to scrap and sew for the whole weekend.

We had some love meals, Julie made a lasagne,

Sue made this yummy! and I mean super yummy! cheesecake,  truly I could have eaten the whole lot of it to myself and not even felt guilty.

Barbara's sister had sent us a chocolate and coffee cake, complete with white mice and droppings (chocolate raisins)

I managed to get a lovely photo of the sun rise on the Saturday morning, before the rest of them was up.

We had plenty of time to scrap and chat thoughout the weekend ...

and we even time for a Silhouette Cameo tutorial from Barbara.

So here we are the gang all together for the group photo

and I leave you with this one, lol x love this has it shows that it can take a while to get everyone focused.

As for the scrapping front, taking all that stash didn't help - has I didn't get has much completely has I'd planned.  I'm still way behind with my Project Life and has for general scrapping, I seem to be finding it a challenge to complete has many layouts has I used to.  But I did have a lovely time and I'm looking forward to returning to the cottage next year.

Thanks for stopping by.
