Snow much Fun

The past couple of day we've had snow, snow and more snow. I love the look of it, but after a few days I just want it to go.

We've even had icicles from the roof top.

Not only from the roof tops, but on the small bush next door.

My bug-bear about all this snow is that I'm not confident in driving the car, so unless I walk everywhere we don't get out.

Well my car looks like this at the moment, so I'm not going anywhere to soon.

I did manage to venture out the other day, and the roads where so bad that I won't be going out in it again. Whilst I was out I park the car near James school, and took a few photos, I do think that this wintery look is fab.

For the 1st time the kids in the street have not been bothered about playing out in it, we normally spend hours in the street, throwing snowballs, sledging and running around, but this time no-one can be bothered. So me and my friend took the kids to a local hill to go sledging and we had a great time, I don't know if I've said this before but it alway amazes me that even though I live in the middle of a City, there is so much green -open space around, so at the bottom of the road we have this.

View to the top of the hill

View from the top of the hill (yes, this is me)

I was really surprised that there was no other kids out, but it did give me the opportunity to have a go as well.

Not a good photo of me - but it proves that mums can have fun too - lol

Cards, Tags and knitting

The time just flies by, I've been crafting and trying to get organised for the festive season so here are a few crafty bits I've been doing over the past few weeks.

I've mainly been doing cards this months, I've got a few birthday coming up in January, and I didn't what to leave things till the last minutes, so I put these together. Now just because I've done them doesn't mean they will be posted on time.

I'm still on a mission to use up my older stash, so this is using a Bellaboo kit from ages ago I think 2008 ???

Bellaboo Kit - Cardstock and Patterned paper -Basic Grey Two Scoops, pink ribbon, buttons and lace; gems, green ribbon and flowers from my stash; Punches:-Fiskars, Stampin' Up and Martha Stewart; Nesties; Cuttlebug - Birthday Embossing Folder; Stampin' Up Birthday greetings.

All images coloured with Promarkers.

This was a free stamp from a 'Creativity' magazine, I normally give them away, but I like this one.

I think this paper is College Press, it was one I did a while ago, by added more detail.

The other morning I woke up at 4.30am and couldn't get back to sleep so nipped into my craft room and did these two cards. I had coloured the images ages ago and put these two cards together with some October Afternoon - Be Merry Christmas 2009 collection.

Not sure what manufacture produces this, but I its a stamps I borrowed from Julie to stamp some images.

You will notice a theme in most of my cards and its the lovely corner punch by Martha Stewart I got it in a set from QVC a while back, along with the corresponding border punch and another border punch. I use it on most of the cards and had even used it on some of my layouts, I think it just finishes it off.

And to add to my homemade wrapping paper, I decided to make some tags, using these products, WH Smith kraft tags, Stamping up products - 'Reindeer' , snowflakes, message stamps, ribbon, inks, EK Success Real Estate Sign label punch and some gems.

(Note to self - remember to take photos of tags when on desk before you give presents away - LOL). Thankfully still got one present to hand over so was able to take photo, while it was on the gift.

I'm not a very good knitter which I hope next year I can rectify that, but each year I do like to make a winter scarf, providing its not too complicated - LOL. So I managed to do this in one night, started to do it whilst James was at his swimming lesson, well I have to keep myself occupied somehow, then finished it off at home. So it took my about 3 hours in total.

Christmas Cards, Wrapping Paper what next ...

Each year I say to myself that I will choose one Christmas design for all my Christmas cards that will be quick and easy to produce.

But it never worked out like that, so here are a few of the Christmas cards designs I've done for this year. I've used up 2009 Christmas paper from various manufacturers; October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye, Making Memories, Cosmo Cricket. Stamps used Magnolia, Elzebells, Crafty Individuals, Bo-Bunny

and I've even had a go at making a few Easel cards.

I decided to try and make my own wrapping paper, after seeing something similar in Paperchase, so out came my stamps and inks and this is what I did.

Close up of the stamps I used,

Winter is here ...

I do love the look of all this snow, but after a few days I get really sick of it and just want it to go.

But here are a few snap I've taken over the past few days.

A few days ago I went for a walk near my sons school and for the first time it has a swan on the lake, well not one but 3, it was so cold that the lake had partially frozen over.

(Notice the sea gull walking on the ice)

Then woke up on Saturday morning to this, just a light covering, but living in a cul-de-sac it can get a bit tricky getting out of the road, but ace when the kids (and adults) are playing out.

Lovely flake patterns on the conservatory windows ...

Spider web - looking very spooky ...

My garden visitors ... they have dug a hole to bury there treasure (nuts), so I've been going out and adding more to it when ever they leave, I bet they think they have gone mad every time they return and the hole has been re-filled - LOL.

Bad Day - Good Day ....

I know, I know it should be the other way round but I wanted to share my bad day news first. With a heavy heart I've had to cancel my subscription to Scrapagogo, now everyone who know me know how much I love these kits and the Staff and DT Team, but due to circumstances I've had to do it. I've put it off for months, but it come to an head over the weekend and the decision had to be made. If circumstances allow I will no doubt be getting one off kits, or even subscribe again. I would like to thank the girls of Scrapagogo for producing these kits and there amazing inspirations. I've got the last couple of kits un-opened, so I will still be using them for quite a while.

Now the Good Day News ....... Yah ..... I got an iPhone ...

I know alot of you out there has had then for ages, but due to my contract I've had to wait for about a year for it to finish so that I could get it ... and today was the day ... so now I'm slowing learning how to use it ... trying to find out what Apps I need etc.

If you have any Apps that you love, please leave a comment and let me know.
