Bellaboo crop - 21 Feb 2009

Another day spent with the Bellaboo girls, and of course Julie. Deb had set up a challenge for the day - to produce a layout using something you have been hoarding - not sure what she means (LOL), bling and flowers.

Well I found this really hard, but decided to have a go anyway. This is what I produced.
All the papers are things I found in my stash, so yes you could say that I was hoarding them. I've not titled this because I not sure what to call it, but will do other the next few days.

This owl was produced using a Craftworks Template, which I borrowed from Julie. I think it works really well with this layout.
My grand plan at the start of 2009 was to finish off all the layouts, mini kits, and especially my Journal your Christmas album before March, and with a week to go I'm nowhere near it. I did take my JYC to the crop but it stayed in the car - so onto another month of me promising myself to finish it off.

A Special Day - Using the Scrapagogo February 2009 kit and a photo of me on my wedding day

I don't do pink - The story behind this layout was James comments when he saw his new pink shirt. I put the full story in the envelope that I made from some of the paper in the kit.

Love - a quite simple layout of me and DH on our wedding day. Again using the Scrapagogo Feb 09 kit.

So the day was spent scrapping, laughing and having a great day. Bellaboo even provided lunch so a great day was had by all.

Paperchase - Owl Stationery Collection

Over on UKS someone found these owl stationery collection from Paperchase, after checking out their web-site I decided that I too loved them. So heres what I got this week ...

There is a whole range of products, mugs, tea towels, egg cups, shopping bags, folders - but I decided to stick to these for now, but knowing me I'll be back getting more.

So I got Wrapping paper - just purchased a American Craft 12 x 12 Album so will use this paper to cover it, A5 ring binder, A6 ring binder - couldn't decided which size to get so got both - LOL. pen and pencil, sticky notes, playing cards - this was a bit of a mistake - thought that they would have the different owls, like on the wrapping paper, printed on the back of each one , but all the designs are the same, wash bag - great to hold some of the clear stamps that I use when going to my crops. and some stickers - bargain only £1.00

The different size ring binders

Whilst I was looking at the stickers, these caught my eye, the stickers on the right have little faces on each sticker - sooo cute!!!

Can you believe it, my blog is a bit like a bus, nothing for ages them 3 post at once LOL.

Scrapagogo Kit - Feb 09

Well what another fab kit from the Scrapagogo girls - chocolate, pinks and lushness - is that a word .... rightly names "Life is like a box full of chocolates"

They have set up a challange to use the kit wihin the first month of getting it and produced a sketch and theme to follow. So this the sketch and the theme is food...

Here is the Sketch

Here is my take

This photo is of my son, taken in August 05 after we had finished making chocolate cakes, has you can see he couldn't wait for the icing to harden before he sampled them.

A very simple layout, but I am happy with it.

Or no .... more stash ....

Well I must blame Liberty from Bellaboo for producing, once again a kit that was so tempting that I HAD to have it.

I went to her crop of 12th Feb and her sister, was working on it next to me, then Debs showed me the accompanying stamps - and it was in my bag before I knew it - LOL - Well after I'd texted Julie to see if she wanted it - which she did.

This is another laughing point at the crops we go to, is if I or even Julie gets something we both have to have it. There are exceptions but not alot - LOL.

Not got much "lovely dovey" photo of me and Jon, hes not keen on having his photo took, and finds it hold to pose - so I'might have to just scrap my lovely son instead.

Must get starting on them soon....

Baby Template Cards/Books

As a lot of my friends are expecting over the coming months, I decided to get a head start and produce these cards - not sure whether they are classed as cards or mini books - but I've done them as cards.

The template was purchased from Skrapz.co.uk who hold a large number of different words - they are so easy to do and I actually did all the cutting out whilst watching TV one evening, and I've into my bag system, so they went into individual bags ready for me to embellish and put together. Fortunately the girls all know what they are expecting so it makes it much easier when picking the colour scheme.

The papers I've used are DCWV Nana Boy and Girl Paper packs, and Making Memories Animal Crackers Embellishments collections, with a few stickers from Dovecraft.

The photos doesn't do the paper justice because some of the sheets are glitters and embossed.

On the front I used a sizzix die and cut the word baby from some of the scrap pattern paper.

These 3 stamps where purchased from Elzybells Art Stamps.co.uk - they just great to stamp with and I think works well with the theme.

Layout Bags - Part 2

On Saturday 7th, went over to the Radbrook Crop, Shrewsbury which is run by Ann & Caroline from Skrapz.co.uk, the worst part of the drive was getting out of my close with the ice but the main roadsand motorway were free and clear and the journey took me the same time as normal.

Great to meet up with the girls and have a chat as well as crop, my layout bags came in very handy, managed to do another 4 layouts, even though the crop finished at 2pm.

No. 1 - A Frosty Day - Bellaboo November 08 kit - photos of two trees taken when we went for a winter walk over Christmas in Derbyshire. Papers used Autumn Leaves - Manhatten range.

No. 2 - In a Spin - Scrapagogo January 09 kit - A great Fun kit - photos of James sledging down the hill, on 5 Feb.

I used one of the stamps that came with the kit, which was ideal, has James was actually spinning down the hill at the time.

I ran out of letters so decided to use the negative for the "a" which I think works really well.

No. 3 - Play all Day - Scrapagogo January 09 kit - Not added a large title to this layout, but used one of the stickers that came with the kit - the enjoyment of my sons face is plain the see.

No. 4 - Snow Fun - Scrapagogo January Kit - James's 2nd day off school because of the snow, we went for a short walk and took this photo. Used my new nestabilities - label 1 for the journalling block.

Again, because I ran out of letters, and I had used the idea on the previous layout, decided to use the negative to create the title, which I added to white cardstock and 3D mounted, for extra effect, with the additon of Making Memories mini alphas - Full title reads "Its Snow much Fun".

Must go now to get some more bags together .........

Layout Bags - Part 1

Well after all the fun in the snow, I finally got around to doing some layouts.

Like most scrapbookers I have a large amount of stash (shh!!! don't want hubby to find out- LOL), and quite a lot of kits - so decided that to use up what I have I should make up LO bags, basically getting my photos, designs, papers, embellishments, notes etc and putting them into a bag ready to product a layout.

This is working really well, making me use what I've got and I think expanding my design ideas.

So one evening I got some of the kits I had purchase and put together 10 layout bags.

So here I've products 4 with another 4 to be uploaded later.

No. 1 - A WALK IN THE WOODS - Scrapagogo November 2008 kit - the kit was called "A walk in the Woods" so keep to the same title.

No. 2 - Toadstool House - Scrapagogo November 08 kit - this not completely finished need to add the title

No. 3 - A Frosty Walk - Scrapagogo November 08 kit - even thought the photos are taken at Christmas and the weather was very frosty decided to use this kit for a different effect.

Additonal use of Thickers, with stickles over the top to represent the frost...

added buttons, ribbons and stitching

used the stamp included in the kit as a journalling block, but turn it upside down to better suit my layout.

No. 4 - Happy Birthday - Used Basic Grey "Obsure" Collection pack, buttons and ribbons.
