Another Visit to London - Aug 2013

We had a 2nd visit to London last month, this visit was mainly to visit the Maritime Museum, but with one thing and another it was extended, firstly not our fault, then we just went with the flow and how we felt on the day.

We set off early and arrived at Birmingham New Street Station with plenty of time to spare, only to be told all trains where cancelled indefinitely going to London has there had been a serious accident on the line, but we could try and get on a train from Moor Street - a good 15 minute walk from New Street - we arrived breathless and just in time to get on board.

Anyway, by getting the train from Moor Street we ended up at Marylebone - closer to Paddington, so has we were so near we found had to go and find - Gromit

another marked off the list - yeah !!!!

Then we set off for the other side of London - to see this

Cutty Sark - we didn't go on it - the queues where really long, but it was nice looking around the outside and going on it will be another visit - yeah !!!

When I saw this, all I could think of was the screens from Les Miserables - I love it !!!   So after we looked around here, Jon suggested that we should have a river cruise to Westminster

James & Jon on the Cruiser

It was lovely seeing the sights from a different view point

Seeing window cleaners on the outside of the Shard

Then when we got off at Westminster it was time for a drink and sit down, and take some more photos

Then we decided to visit Buckingham Palace before we headed home ...

spotted this on our walk to the Palace

Again we had another fantastic day in London, did lots and lots of walking, took loads of photos and now we need to plan our next visit.

Thanks for stopping by.
