Project Life - June 2014

Hello everyone, well I'm back and finally got around to finishing my PL pages for June.

At the last minute I decided to go into the City to see the Commonwealth Games Baton, I was very disappointed by the lack of people there, compared to when the Olympic Torch came to town, but it did give me the opportunity to hold it and have my photograph taken; had Sheena visit.

I actually held it,

up close,

A day crafting with the girls at Julies: Tracie Hudson workshop at Moxley.

3yrs after my Op, James having the first homegrown strawberry, new bike and new bed for James.

Yes, James last 'official' day at High School, he had to return to take exams and finish off some course work.

When he returned from school he said it had the best day, and he loved having his shirt signed by everyone.

I had a quick drive up to Preston to see the girls, but before I went I visited my mum's grave, Preston North End Football ground, my old house (childhood house), meet Christine for lunch and a quick catch-up.

I was stopping at Susan's this time - my friend for over 40 years - has she was recovering from an operation and we needed to have a good catch up.  We ended up going out for a meal with the girls and obviously a few cocktails.

It was also nice to see Joanne again - my old next door neighbour.

On the Saturday, I caught the bus into town to have a look around and see if things had changed, ended up in Preston museum and was please to see a great exhibition about Preston ...

I was born at home on St. Pauls Road, this photo is the site where the first mosque in Preston was built on the actual spot where our house once stood - how weird seeing this.

When I went outside - I spotted this man - OMG !!! this man was the Master of Ceremony at my Wedding - 19 yeas ago, and it has been several years since I'd see him.  He was also one of my Dad's closes friends - I couldn't stop smiling and he was just has shocked seeing me - moments like these are when I wished I was still living in Preston.

Outside the Museum - the Preston Carnival was choosing their 'King & Queen' to lead the Carnival the following week - I had a fab time watching and meeting up with some friends and people who'd I'd not seen for well over 10 years, some even longer.

Then back home and to James Leavers assembly and BBQ; Night out with friends; Finding a suit for James's prom;

So proud that James got a certificate for the friendliest smile.

Trying to choose a suit.

Jades 16th; tallest foxglove; James starting is jobs; homegrown sweet peas.

It was nice of Jade to invite us to her 16th birthday and so good to see them together again.  Jade was James first friend he made when we moved to Birmingham, they went to different high schools but have remained friends.

So that was my June and I'm hoping to get my July pages up real soon.

In the meantime I will leave you with this little sneak of one of my layouts coming some to the Hey Little Magpie blog.

Thanks for stopping by ...
