Shopoholic & Recent Pages

To start off with I had a brilliant time at the NEXT sales, has you can see - LOL. I've not been to the NEXT sale for ages so off I went and got all these, mainly for my holidays, things for J&J and one or two items for the house.

I even amazed me that I had returned home with 9 bags, but eh oh these things have to be done - don't they - LOL.

Whilst in Birmingham, I managed to take these photos around and about, its not only a great place to shop, have a coffee and meet friends, but I great place to take loads and loads of photos of the architecture and the many displays around the city centre.

So after we all returned home, we decided to go for a drive around the area, locally theres a reservoir and I was unsure on how to get around the back to take photos from a different angle, so Jon suggested going for drive before tea and he could show me, and quite frankly I was amazed, the views over looking the city was just stunning, and only about 10 minutes away from my house. Apologies for the small photo but got a new device on my photo editing program that allow you to merge a couple of shots together to make one, but not sure how to enlarge it, to add here, but I hope you get the basic idea, if I find out will add to another post.

Then on Sunday was my Solihull crop which again was loads of fun and I managed to complete my June pages for my GoGo Yearbook and Documentary 2010 - June pages, which I will upload later.

I also completed 2 layouts,

This one is following the Create & Go Sketch

'Cupcake Delight' - using the July GoGo Kit.

Scrapagogo July 200 kit

I managed to do two layouts yesterday with my lovely Studio Calico Kit,

I've used this photo before, but its so raw to get a good photo of Jon that I might just have to use it until I can get another one.

UKS Team Challenge

This is the week challenge that my team set over on UKS and goes live today (19th July). The challenge was to produce a layout by:-
  1. Make your own background/patterned paper
  2. Use a Stamp
  3. Use Summer Colours
  4. Use Lace
  5. Embossing

So my take is this

  1. Stamped on the plain background to give a pattern - used my Stampin' Up background stamp.
  2. Stamped the title - Inkadinkadoo Alpha stamps
  3. Use bright colours - used Echo Park - Sumertime Collection
  4. Lace - from Scrapagogo Shop
  5. Embossing - Used a tag and embossed with Tim Holtz Bingo Texture Plate and lightly over with 'Worn Lipstick' Distress Ink.
If you are on UKS, I hope you join in, even if your not please join in, I'd love to see what ideas you come up with, link it in my comments so I can see.

Have fun and thanks for stopping by ...

A weekend of crafting

On Saturday 10th, my and Julie set off from Birmingham at 7.00am to travel upto Bolton for the GoGo "Totally Textures" Day Event. The GoGo event was amazing as usual, they provided 6 classes, lunch, refreshment and an amazing shop, forgot to take any photos of it, but it was lush and they offer 30% discount on all the products, I was very good and even thought I got a few sheets of paper, I didn't go mad.

Julie & me deep in concentration.

It was lovely to see the girls again and also the other delegates, we had a good laugh and I for one learnt some new techniques and used some different mediums on my layouts.

First up was Eileen with this lovely layout entitled "Interwoven", using canvas and a patchwork effect.

Then Janice taught a 6 x 12 layout using stamped impression on velvet, called "Soft Spot"

Then Lorraine was next with "Knots for You"

After lunch came Nicola, with 'Surface Area" - with dry embossed on to metal foil and added the photos onto beer mats for added dimension.

After Nicola came Sheena class, not finished this one so will add it later.

And finally Janice did this note book holder, which is just lovely.

The day finished about 5.30pm and me and Julie drove home both very pleased with our purchases and our lovely classes.

Julie was kind enough to invite me to go with her to a BBQ, which was lovely so even though we got back to Birmingham about 7.30pm I didn't get home till around 10ish, so I had a long but great day.

No I didn't cook my own BBQ, I just wanted some BBQ photos - LOL

Then on Sunday, having a day to myself I finished off this layout, that I'd started last week for the GoGo 6th Birthday challenge. I used May 2010 kit, and the layout is about my changing hair styles over the last year,

Then I did this for the Shimelle prompt 5, used Echo Park Summertime Collection.

And this one of James, engrossed with his DS, using Scrapagogo March 2010 kit.

So thats all for now, will be back later with my completed mini book, thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment.

Even more New Lines ...

Take a look at this some great lines coming out by MME.

Love it all, if all these companies carry on with producing such lovely papers etc, I'll never be able to live up to what I said last month about not buying any more paper - LOL.

Paper Proposal Sketch Challenge

A few of the Gogo girls have got together and started a new venture with a sketch blog at Paper Proposals. So this is my take on their first sketch.

Even thought its run by the GoGo girls you don't have to use GoGo kits, so for this one I've used My Mind's Eye - Lil' Robot, Basic Grey - Basic, Heidi Swapp Chipboard Stars with glimmer mist.

Hope you like it.

A Trip Down Memory Lane Bingo Challenge

Over on ATDML blog they are running a bingo challenge that ends at the end of June, so as usual I'm on the last minute but here are what I did. Its just a great idea where you have to choose a line of 4 either going down or across the grid, and add them to your layout.

Kid @ Play - I've gone for : - circles on the page, multiple photos, mist/paint and add a something metal.

Use my Tim Holtz timework masks, and glimmer mists, punched out circles, metal brad butterfly on bottom set of circles.

Then I did this, So choose the line use Thickers, something metal, distress something, use a b/w photo.

Both layouts I've used past Scrapagogo Kits.
