2nd Day of Fun - what a day

This is a long blog, couldn't get onto blogger this afternoon, so ended up doing it at 1am in the morning.

I've taken photos of the classes I've done, as well as a few photos of the weekend, so I hope you enjoy seeing what the GoGo Getaway is all about.

Forgot to mention yesterday, found myself sitting opposite Rachel Elliott, Angie Woodall and Chloe (from my CJ team) both Rachel and Angie are two scrappers who's layouts I just love, so will hopefully be getting loading of tips, did say to Rachel not be be surprised if I just straigthforward scrap-lift from her work, and also said that I might even video her, now that I know how to do it with my camera - LOL.

So what with sitting next to Vicki, Sam and Sheena and then Rachel opposite, my scrapping style, should improve, well it should, shouldn't it?

So lets begin, these two layouts are the ones I did on Friday in Lisa class 'Find It' both layouts being 6" x 12" and with a vintage feel.

Woke up at 5 this morning, raring to go, updated my blog, quick shower and then down to the crop room, followed by Breakfast, with classes starting at 10am.

The Restaurant

my breakfast

I will apologise now for the quality of the photos, I'd taken them between each class and all the other things going on here (yes shopping was involved - LOL).

1st up was SJ - using some polka dot papers from Jillibean Soup, hand cut petals to form flowers, paint, buttons and ribbons.

Sorry not a very good photo of SJ, took in mid conversation - sorry SJ.

Then lunch,

On first inspection this looked like a Mushroom flan, which we throught was a bit strange being with the desserts, but it turned out to be a Banaoffee pie, which was just yummy !!!

A selection of the desserts.

followed by Shimelle Class which was using Cosmo Cricket boyfriend papers and chipboard alphabets.

The a break and Jane Dean classes, using Srassfras Lass - Sweet Marmalade papers, stickers, cards and a full sheet of Doodlebug alphabet stickers, this layout also included a small envelope which held a mini book for journalling (bottom right of the LO).

After another great meal, it was back to the class room for Laura class 'Date Night" which was a lovely desk top calender, using a bind-it-all - this involved alot of cutting, but the end result was well worth it. Sorry folks you will have to wait till Monday before I can upload.

Each and every class was full of inspiration, tips and new techniques, which is just what I wanted from the whole weekend. Each class kits included enough to complete the project and with loads of things to spare.

Coffee, Tea, cold drinks available 24/7, a wide variety of meals 3 times a day, a gorgeous shop with a lot of unusual products, great company, a comfortable room and the chance to relax and just enjoy being with like minded people.

It's now 1.30am on Sunday morning and so far the weekend has lived up to what I have come to expect from Scrapagogo, they have topped the fun, value and excitements of their June 09 Retreat and I'm looking forward to returning again in March 2010.

So a big, big thanks to Lorraine, Janice, Zoe and Kirsty and to all the DT Team you have all worked really hard to make this even better than last time. Thanks girls you rock.

Will be back on Monday to upload more photos.

Thanks for stopping by

Let the fun begin ...

Well, has you might have guested I'm at the ScrapaGoGo October 09 Retreat, arrive at the hotel after a 5 hours journey, but it was well worth it, but has I couldn't get into my room till after 2pm, I just had to use the Spa - great but abit lonely on my own. Then meet up with some of the others in the bar for lunch.

I will have to take photos of the bar and spa facilities because I'd left my camera in a secure room, anyway, it was just great to meet up with some of the girls I 'talked' to frequently online and others I'd meet previously at other GoGo events. We were all chatting and laughing like like old friends which was just great.

After lunch I got my keys and this is my room,

why did I take this photo - funny eh!

View from my window, not great of the car park, but has a scrapper just had to take it.

The crop room opened at 6pm with a greeting from Lorraine and Janice, and introduction to the DT team then at 7pm it was time for tea (will have to remember today to take my camera in because the choice of food is great brill. There was something for everyone, and the dessert - well, will have to take pictures later and upload, and you can decide.

Not sure how it happened but ended up sitting on the table with most of the DT Team - oh well - someone has too - LOL, so sat with SJ, Laura, Sam, Sheena and Vicki and then Jo (from Bristol) and Alison (Preston) came to join us, then back to the crop room, to get ready for our 1st classes of the weekend.

But before all that the "GoGo" shop opened, I know, I know I don't need anything else, but it would only be bad manners not to go and have a look, so what if a few items slipped into my hand and ended up going onto my account, as I said I've not got bad manners and everyone else was doing it too - LOL. When the light is better will take a few snaps of what I got.

Then at 9am went into my first class with Lisa called "Find it" a great class where I produced 2 No. 6x12 layouts, both with a vintage feel, distressing, cutting out, ripping and tearing - all the things I love to do. Photos to follow. The class finished at 10.30pm so couldn't take photos last night.

Back to the crop room, for a glass of wine and see what the others had done in their chosen classes, more shopping, more chatting, more laughing and catching up with Jane Dean again, who arrived at 8.50 after being struck in traffic for ages, so didn't get to see here till around 11pm, we had a great laugh and she is just lovely, so no doubt more laughing tomorrow.

Then off to bed about 12.30, to get ready for Saturday.

So after the 5 hour journey down, I will end by saying that the 1 day was a great success, what more can I ask for eh! meeting up with friends, laughing! shopping! more laughing! more shopping!

Will be back later to show you the classes.

On Holiday ...

Well I'm away with the family in North Norfolk, a place that I've grown to love over the years, so much so that we come back 2 or 3 times a year.

Well we arrived yesterday, and after having our picnic we went for a walk in the woods, even thought it rained it was nice to get out of the car for a while.

Today, I had a quite day, Jon & James decided to go on a extra long, long walk and I just wanted to walk by the sea, so off they went and we arranged to meet back at 12.30 for lunch and then spend the afternoon on the beach.

So I walked long the prom and watched the lifeboat being launched and I just sat and watched the sea, fishing boats and waited for it be returned. In the sea the lifeboat looks so small but when in comes out it quite big.

If I can get back on the net this week will update as the week goes along, otherwise will have to wait till after my GoGo Retreat - by the way did I tell you I was going on a Retreat on 30th - ;) will be trying to update each day from their and showing you whats going on.

The Girls are coming to Town ...

Oh should I say Coventry, which is near enough. Yes Scrapagogo are holding a day event at the end of February 2010 in Coventry and I've managed to get a place. Yippee .... Julie got a place as well. As well as me and Julie, Liberty, Lisa and Debbie will be going over, which will be just brill.

Now over the past week, I've been busy sorting, printing and repacking my bag for my Retreat which is 11 sleeps away as I write. But of course, before that I'm on a family holiday so packing for that as well.

The object for the weekend is to 'travel light' so only taking one hand held bag with all my crafting things in. When I happy with what I packed, I will take a picture and see if it works.

Onto crafting, still ongoing with my Christmas cards, but did manage to do some layouts at my crop on Sunday. Using the Scrapagogo October kit, which has usual is lush.

This first one is of me with my hair extension in, and was a challenge set by Eileen on the Retreat website, where you had to use a picture of yourself, a song or film title, and 2 products that you like to use. The journalling reads " Everytime I have my hair extension in, I find myself saying 'whos that girl' whenever I see my reflection.

Title is 'Who's that Girl!' which is both a film and song title, 2 products I like to use are Kraft Cardstock and thickers.

Scrapagogo October 09 Kit.

Love these little envelopes that came with the kit, I put the journalling in the envelope and used part of the stamp on the outside.

Scrapagogo October 2009 Kit, again another challenge on the Retreat website and it was to scrap something that was precious, so I chose Jon & James and has much as they sometimes drive me mad, I do not know where or what I would be doing without them in my life.

In my mad tiding up last week, I found this, which I had done about 2 years ago at a workshop before I became hooked on Scrapbooking - LOL. So I'm not sure what the papers are or the album but it worked beautifully with my photos taken by Cheryl Johnson at the June Retreat.

The letter stickers are making memories and the heart was in with the book and just co-ordinates really well.

Just on of the pages

I have journalled on the 1st page but not the others.

This is one I did last week, and forgot to upload, its of James having his 1st swimming lesson at the age of 3 with Nursery. I used a Tim Holtz mask and Glimmer Mist.

Bye for now

Used it Up - Nos. 29 -31 and more

Right, sorry not been around for a week, no excuse really, just not done much and other everyday things have been getting in the way of my crafting.

I'm still in the process of tiding my craft room, which is seriously a MESS, over the past few weeks every time I go into it, it makes me sad and I just don't feel like scrapping, so over the past few days I've been sorting out, but most of all throwing out things that I would never use in a million Sundays. Still got a lot to do, but its looking a bit better, and I've managed to produce some layouts out of the mess, and take some photos of some classes I've recently done.

Has you know, or just in case I've not told you yet - I'm going to the Scrapagogo Retreat at the end of the month, anyway Sam has set a challenge to do a LO and used either a song or film title. So this is what I produced, it was one I'd done on Sunday morning, but was struggling with a title, and when I showed it to my DH he came up with the title, from a song by Brian Eno , and works perfectly with the LO.

This layout is based on one done by Laura (Scrapagogo DT), I've used the same pp but changed it - IYKWIM - so thanks Laura for the inspiration.

No. 29 - Used Scrapagogo September 2009 Kit

No. 30 - Cosmo Cricket - Boyfriend

No. 31 - This was a page kit from Crafty Stash, and designed by Tracie Hudson using Prima 'Mommy & Me'

At the end of September me and Julie went over to Exhall Green Crop and did the class, designed by Sarah Palmer - both different sizes to what I normally do.

I would never has throught to use so many thickeres on one pages. but its a design I will use again.

This was originally a 6 x 12 design, but designed to mount it on to a 12 x 12 and add the left hand side.

Well that all for now, must get on and finish this craft room.

Bromsgrove Crop & Use It Up Nos. 23 to 28

Hi all, it was another enjoyable day over in Bromsgrove on Saturday, where we had some new faces join us, and Liberty provided a fabulous lunch.

So welcome to Sally & Debbie who joined us for the 1st time, it was great to meet you both and and I hope will come back. Also Cleo brought her shop "Bellaboo" with loads of lovely goodies, I did resist but in the end got a few bits, but good for me because I only spent £8.00, mainly on Kraft Cardstock.

Well my page kit bags are working really well for me, and I managed to complete 6 layouts, finishing one at home. Bringing my total to 28 in my "Use It Up' challenge. I know I had a big spend last week at Ally Pally, but I've not used any of that stash yet, and still working my way through the page kits I had already done.

I'm also challenging myself to do at least 5 layouts with the current ScrapaGoGo kit each month.

So here are the layouts I did yesterday:-

ScrapaGoGo Sept 09 Kit - James - getting a tattoo at Twycross Zoo

ScrapaGoGo Sept 09 Kit - This was a photo I took whilst walking along the Brimingham Canal and entered into a competition and came 2nd over on UKS. This layout needs more details but can't decided what to do.

ScrapaGoGo Sept 09 Kit - Another photo from Twycross Zoo - Julie, James and Izzy enjoying a "Big Hug". This was a sketch challenge set be Debs at the crop to include, stitching and hand made embellishment.

Cosmo Cricket - Earth Love & Boyfriend - James when he was younger, pretending to be a Super hero like the ones on TV.

Sassafras Lass - Bungle Jungle Collection

Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird Collection - I'd been complaining to DH that has I've got older I don't get a birthday cake, but it is a bit awkward having my birthday on Christmas Eve, so last year when we went into town on Christmas Eve and stopped for a Coffee, this is what DH and DS got me - so I can't complain anymore that I didn't have a cake.

October Afternoon as landed ...

I've been waiting for this collection from October Afternoon for a while now, and I especially wanted 'Report Card' which I will be using for a mini book of James last day at Junior school.

I didn't get the 8x8 pad has here, but a few 12 x 12 sheets and the journalling cards.

Then the 'Farm Fresh' collection just happened to fall into my basket - LOL, but its lovely

So if you want to get yours check out Craft Emporium for the current collection and super speedy delivery.

As from today I'm on a stash freeze as money is getting very tight, and I need to use my current stash and all the lovely goodies I got from Ally Pally last week.
