A Day at Bodenham Arboretum

On Wednesday, I spent a lovely day with Julie at the Bodenham Arboretum, the weather was sunny with a slight breeze and so was very pleasant to walk around and there was alot of walking.

Here are a few photo of the day.

Love this foxglove next to the tree

When we stopped for some coffee these ducks were just sitting amongst the tables and enjoying the sunshine.

Across one of the many pools we saw a heron.

We came across a horse and its foal in a field.

who came to the fence to say hello.

as well as 4 donkeys,

one which was pregnant and you could see the baby moving in its stomach.

some super cute ducklings.

Then on our way home we came across a field of poppies, totally amazing and very beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by and I'm hoping to upload some scrapping soon.

A Scrapping Weekend

Last weekend I was invited along with Sheena to stay at Sam  for a catch up and some scrapping.  I can't share what I did yet on the scrapping front, but the weekend was about getting together, having a laugh and general putting the world to right like you do.

So I set off up the M6 / M54 to Sam's and of course got struck in traffic on the M6, so what should have taken me 50 minutes took me nearly 2 hours.

Anyway, I arrived at Sam and after a quick cuppa we headed to the local farm shop that was holding a 'sausage and ale' night with live music.  The music was OK, when it finally started - there was a few band members having a tantrum behind the screen,  which provided us with a good source of laughter.

There was also a good selection of local cider and ale to be tasted and bought, which we had to have a few samples of, and bring a few bottles back for the weekend.

Then just has we where leaving I spotted a herd of cows in a nearby field, and promptly jumped out to take some photos, closely followed by Sam who insisted on getting a bit to close to them for my liking, but there were lovely.

Then it was back to Sam's to await Sheena arrival and settled down to some scrapping.

On the Saturday evening, we headed over to Ironbridge for an Indian,

We had a lovely meal

and of course we had to take some photos, the restaurant to inside the old town Police Station

Then we drove over the 'New IronBridge' which is very new age and not has architecturally pleasing has the old one.  This photo was taken about 10pm at night - love the light evenings.

Thanks Sam for the lovely invitation and thank you both for a really enjoyable weekend.

 Love you both xx

Project Life - May 2013

Apologies for the glare from the page protectors, but here our my May 2013 pages, another full month starting with:-

The lovely blossom trees lining the drive to my sons school, lunch date with friends to celebrate Barbara birthday, a visit to Chatsworth, and James ritual of washing is feet.

We spent the Bank Holiday weekend in Derbyshire, so as well as Chatsworth, we visited Bakewell and Matlock; then I had a few hours playing with my nephew and niece in Grandma garden, and meeting a Peacock whilst driving down a lane;  and some more holiday prep.

Happy Mail - Studio Calico kit, and then my girly holiday - starting with a drive to Preston, visiting my mums grave (holiday pages following) and my parking ticket when I got back - ahhhh !!!! -  I was 10 minutes over my time and it cost me £25 - initially I thought it might be £50 but I paid within 14 days so it was halved.

I had 5 fun packed day with the girls in Benidorm : the flight; eating in the hotel restaurant.

Shopping in Benidorm town;  are daily cocktails; and a meal at a Chinese

Couple of photos from our nights out, some fun shots on the beach.

Some beach photos

Now back to the last week of May, James getting ready to go on a bike ride around the City; then we had a walk by the canal: A trip to Webbs, and attending Nana's funeral.

I mentioned a few months ago about cutting down the time working on this project, and its going great, I've been scrapping more and not finding it a chore to complete these pages.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back with some layouts I've done shortly.

Gardener's World Live

I took my friend Claire to the Gardeners World Live Event at the NEC last week, when we arrived it was lovely sunshine and we had a leisurely walk around the outside exhibitions

The we went into the large area that had the most gorgous flower, shrubs, displays that I've seen in a very long time.

I was amazed how big, and bold all the displays where and especially the vivid colours.

The head of this lily was about 10 inches wide and smelt lovely

I have never seen a Bonsai tress that flowered - totally amazing.

At the centre of the hall was a large display representing Birmingham Library, now I love this much more that the actual building.

This is the actual building in the centre of Birmingham - (taken with my iPhone in the back of my car) sticking out like a 'sore thumb' - so the interpretation  of it, is spot on - even down to the design on the grass like to 'mesh' on the outside.

on the opposite site was a display to Tolkein

then onto the outside ares for some of the more contemporary garden designs.

Inside the hall, as well as the super duper summer house,

Then has we approach the live animal section we heard the rain and boy did it pour, so glad that we had done the outside part of the show when we first arrived,  but these lovely chick distracted us from the sound on the tin roof, along with these chicks, there were various pets.

A large area with some Butterflies

And this giant stick insect - which I didn't get to close too - lol

In the adjacent hall was the Good Food Live Show, so we wonder around here, had a few samples and watch a couple of the food demonstrations, here Lisa Faulkner presenting 'MasterChef'

and Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry at the book signing section.

I had such a great time, got a few plants, loads of seeds - not sure where I'm going to put all the flowers has my garden is only small.  I'm going to end up with a patio of pots next year - but the main thing is I had a great day out.

I'll be back shortly with my Project Life May pages.
