Journal Your Christmas 2012

I started off saying that I wasn't going to do a Journal Your Christmas album this year, has I've still not finished 2011, but has you can see I'm giving it a go and I'm amazed at how many pages I've got done already.  I've not doing it solely as a JYC following Shimelle prompts, but do a mix-mash of JYC and December Daily, so some days it will be things that has happened through out the month and other days will be things that have happened on the specific date.

I've not added dates to any of the pages has I'm still undecided on how I want the numbers to be, all the same, or different Thickers, different alphas on each pages.  I will decided over this holidays and hopefully I will be able to finish this album before the end of January 2013.  So my pages are not in any order on scene, but they are in my album.

getting the tree

my visit to the ballet

A lovely cameo die cut,

A made some handmade gift bags

A selection of my cards

Posting said cards

I'd see this on someone blog, where they had added some bits to the page protector and used wash tape to seal the top - great idea and one that will be appearing in my album again.

Getting some new ornaments

a night out with friends

lunch with some of my craft buddies

the red cup

winter weather

my poinsettia - something I get every year

I have added some journalling to some of the pages, but will be adding more if I've left enough space.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Cards & Gift Wrapping

I think I say this every year, I must start to make my cards earlier, or give up on the idea and buy them, and this year is no exception.  I had the great idea of doing several small batches of different designs perhaps 10 of each design, but it didn't work out like that.

So I started off with these.

And has the saying goes 'I just wasn't feeling it' ended up sending a photo to my friend Julie, thanks for the advice love, and I was alot happier with it in the end.

So then I decided to make this my main card design, the stamp is a Molly Blooms one that I got from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn when I went to their opening weekend in November, love it and it stamps really well.  I stamped and embossed and even got my Pro-markers out, they had to be dusted off has I've not used them for a well.  I die-cut the image with a nestabilities die, and the red dollies was done using my cameo. A selection of papers from my Christmas box, ribbon from Stampin' Up and Wilkinsons.

These wood veneer shapes again found in my Christmas box that I added to the front

I ended up only making a few and then I gave in and bought some from the shop.

I did manage to make some gift bags, nothing fancy but I like how they have turned out, I purchased plain some lunch bags - stamped over them and added a tag

close up of the tag - stamp from Hobbycraft, Christmas washi tape, and ribbon & bells from stash.

I have done a few additional cards that I will post next week when they have been handed over.

I hope your Christmas preparation are all sorted by now and you are starting to wind-down (or up - lol) for the big day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Project Life - November 2012

I think this month is the one month were I've only got 3 page protectors for the whole month.

Product used : Studio Calico November kit and Simply Stories - Sn@p cards.

James have another eye test and getting some new glasses, my new IG profile photo, and James's model making, as well as seeing what Christmas jumpers look best.

2nd week - 3 trips to the City to try and get my Laptop mended, baking my Christmas Cake, Ikea, last crop of the year, and autumn leaves.

night out with some friends, spending the day with James, and going to the Grand Opening of Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn store.

A visit to see Sheena; and a Wednesday trip : shopping, cinema and lunch (the blank space is for my cinema tickets)

I organised a weekend away with my crafting buddies from the Skrapz crop, again we went to Toad Hall and once again we had a blast.

Deb made us all some delicious cupcakes, which was as yummy as they looked, and left us all wanting more.

The one thing that was planned for that weekend was a group photo, I had a break and walk down the lane and around the church ground.

And 4 of us stayed over on the Sunday night, it was great to have the extra full day of scrapping, but the room felt really different with just four of us.

So that was my November, and I've already started on my December and hoping to get that completed along side with my Journal your Christmas Album - which I haven't even started yet, but hope this year will be the one I actually finish in January.

Thanks for stopping by.

Project Life 2012 - October

As promised I'm back with my Project Life -October 2012 pages, so here goes ...

An early Birthday present from Julie was a trip to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the NIA in Birmingham, we started the evening off at the Handmade Burger Co at the Mailbox.

I actually got out of the car to take this photo, we had left NIA car park and was queueing up to get out on to the main road and I looked up and saw a lady exercising in a Gym, it was about 11pm or even later at night.

meeting and greeting parents at a school parents evening as a Govenor; noticing how taller James now is: Ofsted meeting; loving the Autumn colours of the trees, my current coffee obsession.

I actually got 36 boxes of coffee !!!

James's 100% attendance; having some work done on our conservatory roof; my 1st crocheting project; trick or treating with James and his friends.

We spent half term in Sheringham, which included a lovely walk through the woods, and coming across this great sign post to direct us to the cafe; James still having to do homework whilst on his holiday - he wasn't impressed.

various photos around the town, local bakery; lovely wool shop;

 a trip to the theatre; fish & chip supper; arcade time with James; very rough sea;

Even though the weather wasn't great we still managed to spend some time on the beach.

Key points: the local stream engine at the train station

Having a walk along the front in the fog; beach huts;

I attended the Creative Heart & Soul Retreat in Coventry with Sheena and Sam, it was my first CH&S retreat and I loved it, hoping to make to back again next year.

This was my month of October, thanks for stopping by ...

Just a few layouts ....

I've been neglecting my blog, for the love of Instragram (IG) of which I'm fast becoming additive to,
so I'm trying to get back on track with my postings and fall back in love with blogging again - I can't promise to do weekly post at the moment, but hopefully for 2013 I will be back on track.

So here goes,  a few of these  layouts where submitted for publications, but where not taken up - boo hoo !!!

The photo was taken of my boy on holiday in Norfolk over the Summer holidays, leaving the water after having a surf.

I used Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go collection, along wiht a few bits I found on my desk

Again, my cameo came into use again, along with a flair button from Stash Panache

I also found a file that I could cut a surf board.

This one was making the use of die cuts, which I use 4 on one layout.

This one of of Sam, Sheena and Me at a getaway in February and using the Studio Calico (SC) November 2012 kit. and the SC Sunburst mask.

In the kit there was some wood veneer and someone had posted a photo on IG on dipping the tops of the veneers, so I gave it a go using embossing powder.

A photo of James and his youngest cousin a few years ago.  I used Dear Lizzy- 5th & Folic Paper Collection.

So that if for now, I will be back later in the week with my October 2012 Project Life pages.

Thanks for stopping by.
