Apologies and Thank you

In my last post I mentioned about crocheting a snood, and I forgot to add a link to the lovely blog of Kate, who kindly provided  a very easy pattern to follow, here is the link

So I would like to apologies and say a big thank you and to say I'm now on my 3rd one, decided to make and send as Christmas presents.

Come back later in the week to see my Project Life September pages, just need to take some photos.

A Week in Norfolk

Last week we spent the week in Norfolk, Sheringham to be precise, a lovely fishing town not far from Cromer.  If you are a regular reading to me blog, you will know that we visit there a couple of times a year, I love it, I love the fact that James has been able to get the morning papers since he was 9/10 years old and not be frightened to walk through the town on his own, I love it that the locals recognise us and stop and say hello and enquire how James is doing, and each time the remark how taller hes getting etc.

Well here are a few photos of our week.   I didn't take as many as I normally do, but still a lot for me to get printed.

The journey down

Started on my first snood  on the drive down

 a walk in the woods

Love this signpost - directing us to the cafe

Many trips to various cafes, for a hot chocolate

I love Stream Trains, and the North Norfolk Railway has its very own, I go into a complete anorak when I'm there.

Now I'm getting the hang of crocheting, I visited a lovely shop in the town, to stock up with some wool

I love being able to get fresh bread from the bakery each day

We had 2 days of really thick fog,

didn't stop us going for a walk along the prom

me with one of my snood - this one not finished need another ball of wool

not sure how I managed to be in the arcade on my own, but did manage this

yeah !!! £10

found a shop that sold washi tape !!! not that I need any more, but I still had to get some

We managed to spend some time on the beach,  me walking and taking in the views

and J &J playing cricket.

The cottage we stayed at

This photo was taken about 7am on Saturday (27th) morning, it was very, very windy and freezing - but wanted to get a few shots of the rough sea.

On our journey home, this was the sky, lovely and blue without a cloud in sight, such a contrasts to the morning sky

I did say I hadn't taken many, so will apology for the photo heavy post.

Thanks again for stopping by, really must get my Project Life finished and uploaded.

Child Play Challenge Blog

This week is my team turn, you can find all the details here and here is my take.

Has it nearly Halloween I decided to do a halloween layout with photos of James in his 1st 'ever' Halloween costume.  Yes, it was only last year at the age of 13 that he decided that he might be fun to dress up like all the other kids in the street - I always say better late than never.

I used papers from Stampin'Up

I few close ups and as the challenge was 'goggly eyes' I added them here

I also found these alphabet stickers by Making Memories - not sure how old they old but they had complete lost all the stickiness - lol.

I felt that the top of the page was missing something so I punched out a 2 inch circle and used it has a mask to create the moon and added some Tim Holtz die cuts bats, cut using black cardstock then lightly inking with white ink.  I also added a punched tab, just because the punch was on my desk - lol.

Thanks for stopping by and please join in with the challenge, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Creative Heart & Soul Retreat, Coventry

At the weekend I attended my first Creative Heart & Soul retreat, organised by Debbie Nicholas and Tracey Hudson.  They had booked a beautiful venue in Coventry, and had invited Giltz Design and Fancy Pants to come over and teach.

So my weekend started off on Friday when I went  over to Sheena's house where we were joined by Sam and we had a lovely lunch and a catch up

Then we went in convoy to the hotel which was only 20 minutes away from Sheenas.  We spent the weekend at this lovely hotel (photo taken early evening)

the reception had a lovely open fire

The weekend involved completing 3 mini books and 3 double page layouts - all of them I've still have to finish and will be a 'work in progress' over the next few weeks.

This was what greeted us at our table, Debbie & Tracey had had done each attendee a lovely decorated bird house - this is mine

and a bag with produces to make a name badge - I did attempt to do one - not sure where it is now - lolx

When everyone had arrived it was time for a Champagne cocktail welcome.

Debbie & Tracey introduced our teachers for the weekend and they each introduced themselves.

Erin & Laura from Glitz Design

Jodi from Fancy Pants

my room

All the teachers at the end of the retreat

Final photo of me and the Glitz girls

Anna had set up a photo booth, I was able to taken this one of my buddies on the Friday night, there are more to follow.

I had such a great time, and learnt loads.  Thanks everyone for making it a great weekend and special thanks to Rachael E (great to see you again - as usual) and Carol as well as Sam and Sheena for being my table buddies - love to all.

View from the front of the hotel early Sunday morning.

SJ Papercraft Blog Challenge No. 9 - School

Over on SJ Papercraft blog the latest challenge is up and you can find all the information here .  As the challenge was to produce a layout/card on the subject of school/learning I did this layout.  Photo of James on his 1st day in Year 10

Products used - Studio Calico Yearbook Collection

And a few close ups - the added extra was to use scallops - so I added a scalloped piece to the bottom.

Of course, my layout would be the same without some Studio Calico wood veneer.

and a cameo die cut and the new Studio Calico number paper clips
