Getting them done ....

I've been using sketches more and more to try and speed up my process and get some of the many photos that I've got scrapped.

These are a couple that I've done recently using sketches from Shimelle's blog, both layouts are from our visit to the Harry Potter Tour earlier this year.

Both layouts using papers from My Minds Eyes - Skys the Limit & Fly Away Collections

and this one was by the giant chess pieces outside the entrance

I joined in again with Sarah's Card Sketch Challenge.  You can find the details here

This is the sketch

and here is my layout

A close up of the stitched tag

To add some extra details to the pennants I stamped on one, and added a wood veneer arrow over the other.

As well as using some vellum and a dollie

Getting Messy

I really don't know what came over me, perhaps it was the heat - lol , but I got messy with some Tim Holtz Distress Strains, Mr Huey mist, stencils and stamps and I loved it.  I was totally out of my comfort zone, has you can see from my previously layouts - but I really love the simple process and how the layout turned out.

Apologies because I should have taken photos of the process to share with you - but I didn't - perhaps if I do another one I will remember.

Supplies Used

Echo Park - For the Record 2 Paper Collection
Distress Stains - Crushed Olive & Weathered Wood
Mr Huey - Bonny Blue with dropper
Various masks
Glitz Arrow Roller stamp
washi tape

This was another photo taken on my iPhone, outside James school one evening.

A close up of the background -  flair badge by Stash Panache, stamp by Ali Edwards - stamped in white ink on black card.

Of courseI had to add a die cut, and for no reason I added a Globe

I'm really pleased with out this has turned out, I'm still undecided whether to add a title but I've added some journalling on the back.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another scrap lift

I have had this die cut for months, it was designed by Geralyn on the DT over at Studio Calico, so I thought it was time I made use of it.

I used Studio Calico - Atlantic Paper Collection and wood veneer.

The photos were taken on my iPhone - something that I'm doing more and more these days and has the title says - I just told him to stand in the garden and pose - has he's a teenage the corporation might only last a few minutes so I tend to take load of quick snaps before he says enough.

Following the current trend using chalkboard on layouts, I stamped a few images onto black cardstock with white ink and cut out, which I can now add to my layouts when needed.

This stamp is a set by Ali Edwards

I've nearly completed my Project Life June pages which hopefully will be uploaded shorting, so please come back.

Scrap Lifting ...

Sometimes you just have to, and this layout was just that.  I saw it earlier in the year over at 2peas here by Wilna.

I changed the layout to suit my style, and I love it.

Here is my layout, the photo is a Christmas one, but works well with the 'love' theme.

and a few close ups - stamp by Ali Edwards

A cameo die cut.

found this frame, which works on the layout.

Scrap365 July 2013 Sketch Challenge

I love using sketches so I was up for the challenge with this one.  The information can be found here

and this is the sketch - taken from a layout by my lovely friend, Sheena

I used the new paper collection from October Afternoon - Travel Girl

and a few close ups, I used the strip at the bottom of the paper, to add to my layout

Also loving the cork chevrons from Studio Calico, to add futther details I stitched up the middle of the arrow (arrow cut on my Cameo) and the alphabet stickers are from Jillibean Soup.

the photos where taken on my recent girly holiday to Spain on the plane.

I'm still scrapping ...

its just taking me longer to take photos and upload, but here are a few I've done over the past few week.

Snow Day - This one was I did a while back about 2 months or so, it based on a layout I saw in Amy Tangerine latest book.

I even added an hand-stitced title.

Log Flume Fun - using October Afternoon - Midway Collection.  This photo was taken in 2005 on a visit to Legoland.

Friendship - I did this layout (minus the journalling) but felt like it was still missing something

so I added some stamping and wood veneer  to the right of the photo, and the original has my journalling in the bottom left corner, and the page looks alot better.

I have a Friend in You - using Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper Collection

I even added some sequins

And the hair clip which came with one of the Studio Calico Project Life Kits

Thanks for stopping by and I'm hoping it won't be as long till my next layout update.
